Hyper-V Generation 2 Virtual Machines (VMs) introduced with Windows Server 2012 R2. Shielded VMs, Live migration, and Discrete device assignment features are supported by Hyper-V Generation 2 VMs but Legacy virtual network adapters feature does not supported. Unlike Gen 1 VMs, Hyper-V Generation 2 provides support for Linux Secure Boot. Up to four SCSI controllers are supported by Hyper-V Generation 2 VMs with each of those SCSI controllers supporting 64 devices and allow us to boot VMs from SCSI-attached VHDs or DVDs; however, the IDE controllers aren't supported by Hyper-V Gen 2 VMs. All Dynamic memory, Guest clustering, and Import/export features are supported by both Gen 1 and Gen 2 VMs but Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) is supported by Gen 2 VM only. At the time of moving our VMs to Microsoft Azure, we should use Hyper-V Generation 1. We can run Hyper-V Generation 1 and Hyper-V Generation 2 VMs together but we cannot change a Hyper-V VM's generation once we are created the VMs.

The Tianhe-2 is a massive 3’000’000-Core Supercomputer system that clocked 33.86 Petaflops, or 33000 TFLOPS. The Tianhe-2 built at China's National University of Defense Technology. The Tianhe-2 consists of 16,000 nodes that each contain 2 Intel Xeon IvyBridge Processors and 3 Intel Xeon Phi Processors, adding up to a total of 3.12 million computing cores.

Einstein's celebrated formula e=mc2 has finally been corroborated. A brainpower consortium led by Laurent Lellouch of France's Centre for Theoretical Physics , using some of the world's mightiest supercomputers, have set down the calculations for estimating the mass of protons and neutrons, the particles at the nucleus of atoms. According to the conventional model of particle physics, protons and neutrons comprise smaller particles known as quarks, which in turn are bound by gluons.The odd thing is this: the mass of gluons is zero and the mass of quarks is only five percent. Where, therefore, is the missing 95 percent? The answer, according to the study published in the US journal Science on Thursday, comes from the energy from the movements and interactions of quarks and gluons. The e=mc2 formula shows that mass can be converted into energy, and energy can be converted into mass. In other words, energy and mass are equivalent, as Einstein proposed in his Special Theory of Relativity in 1905.[Nov 20,2008 6:56 pm ET].
